We are undergoing changes with Nadia Telsey's retirement. Sexual Assault Support Services and some former students are carrying on the teaching in the Eugene-Springfield area. Materials are still available.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing:

-- Unique curricula developed with two Rape Prevention Education Grants, aimed at educating and empowering young women ages 11-18 and adults with developmental disabilities

-- Self-defense related educational materials including the Self-Defense from the Inside Out workbook and a popular, colorful book of daily affirmations for girls

If you have survived an assault or threatening situation, we recommend contacting local advocacy resources first, such as Sexual Assault Support Services for support in making choices to cover your immediate needs. We at Breaking Free do not provide direct services, and highly recommend agencies like SASS and Womenspace as a first step in recovery and healing.

Check out our Resources Page for more information, including confidential, 24 hour crisis and support-lines.
